I make no excuses for the things I say or feel. On my blog, it's my opinion and I won't apologize for them. Just keep in mind, it's "My Blog, My Thoughts."

Racism
I realize that racism is still alive today but when I pulled up my mail on yahoo and read about what happened yesterday on Capitol Hill, it really disturbed me.
We all have our own political views and concerned but when you start threatening people and calling them nigga, you've gone too far. It's like unless we are doing things a certain group's way, everything else is wrong. I'm not going to place any of my political views on here but I must say that even when Bush was in office, no one was this unruly about the things he did. I didn't agree with much of anything he did but I didn't threaten him. I have to admit, I hope they pass the bill just to piss them off. What will they do? They are only a small percentage of Americans who are against it. Some are against it because they are bandwagon protesters. I made it a point a long time ago, regardless of the color of the President, to read for myself what things are about in the world.
A lot of people say this isn't because of our President's race but I truly believe in my heart it is. It's terrible that even today we can look past his skin. Black people are tolerable as long as we are doing stupid stuff and killing each other. Please don't get me wrong, everyone is not racist. My aunt always said that God has always touched the heart of people. I am watching Law&Order and guess what it is about, Racism. People should start getting to know people and judging them by their character, not the color of the skin. Martin Luther King JR was right now when he said it. You hate me because of my skin color but if you cut us both, we both bleed red.
I have been called a nigger many times where I work. Customers are mean like that sometime. I usually just laugh it off because I know the definition of a nigger and honestly, their ignorance makes them a nigger. I even had a lady around the age of 74 to tell me the reason I requested her dl# and date of birth while placing an order for service was because of that Obama. I said, "ma'am, Obama doesn't have a thing to do with asking you for this information." She said, "Obama has something to do with everything." I was like what, it took everything in me to not say something back to her. It was silly because this rule has been in effect for at least four years. How can you in your right mind really thing silly things like this?? If anything, Bush was in office when these rules were placed and I thought about saying that, but I need my job.
I don't understand it and I never will understand it. Because I am darker than you doesn't make you better than me. I feel we are all equal. I have the same rights as you and I may even be much smarter than you too and if I do that job better than you, I deserve that job based on my work ethic and not my skin and you don't deserve it because of your skin color either.
I just wanted to touch on this. I feel the Tea Party protesters are dead wrong for their behavior and I feel they should be held accountable. When one of them spit on that black lawmaker, if I was him, I would have knocked the living daylights out of him. You are this upset about a damn healthcare reform bill???? Everything will have its perks and it's downsides. I'm just really upset about this today.
